Schedule question

Couldnt pay me enough to wither away for 5+ hours in RFD, ONT, DFW, PHL, etc sorts during the day. MF’ers need to be putting us in dayrooms for that crap.
Duty rig increase would also be a possible solution domestically, currently 2:1 non edw. Any duty days over 8hrs pay 1:1 for the whole day kind of thing.
If you get language to eliminate the long day sits, only option is to have 1 and done type days with long layovers. That would lead to a huge increase in staffing needs…good luck getting ups to agree to that.

You sure about that? Take a look at 117 Table B. Even with four legs you are still looking at 12/13 hour duty days.
117 is not the quick fix some think it is.
Contractual language is what is needed to fix this. Bringing our EDW times to match 117 WOCL (02:00-05:59) would go a long way in fixing some of these duty days.
It would make all our 05:00 - 05:59 show time duty days EDW, and limited to 11 hours. In many cases it would not allow for the second leg out of the sort and should push us to more one leg days in order to stay under the EDW duty day limit.
