Default pylon inspections

I am retired now, just wondering if the MD-11 pylon inspections are underway yet, if so, have any discrepancies been found, and have any aircraft been released for service. I checked Flight Aware and there are no MD-11's are airborne at the time. Thanks

The emergency AD doesn’t prescribe how and what to inspect exactly along with no criteria for completion so it’s going to be awhile before any MD11s are allowed to fly again.

Default inspections

Thanks, just curious, I know when the A300 was grounded after the AA rudder issue, we were doing inspections within a few hours, I know with peak coming up, they will need the lift.

Right now, the official word is all trips for the MD are cancelled until Friday morning. I would suspect that the inspections are happening coincidental to requirements to comply getting ironed out.

God rest their souls. I am saddened by the loss of our family members and also the people on the ground that lost their lives in this horrific event.

I remember the AAMPs instructors first words. “Who here is a Top Gun graduate.”

That was such a bad way to teach maneuvering an airliner. Using the rudder that way, which snapped the tail off the Bus, only really works when pulling G’s.

Yup….I remember. Just stomp the rudder, you’ll be fine.
