After we saw UPS’s reaction to the Accident, denying premiums, schedule disruptions etc etc etc, how can anybody think that it’s not time.

People can think it’s not time because of the specific situation we’ve found ourselves in with emergency outsourcing and the ability to move the box inexpensively through revisions and MEF. Not because “I’m mad that they did X, so now I’m gonna do Y.” That’s too surface level at this point.

Your frustrations are spot on. But, focus on what hurts them more right now, or what might hurt them later in the mediator’s eyes. Call fatigue when appropriate or ER when your instincts say “this isn’t a historical norm.” Seek out and ER revisions in place of pure displacement for lease carrier swaps. DCON will be awarded. Police non-contractual trips placed into OT. Use the tool recently created by an IPA’er to scrub your revisions for legality. Decline absurd revisions when outside 36 hours. Join the et al grievance for bogus “MD-11 SCR” premium denials. Many ways to build our case right now that aren’t banning JA flying.

And when you find yourself with extra days off or a deficit from declining, fly a JA. It’s not always a fully self-enriching endeavor. This is likely the least cost-effective way for them to move the freight. It also happens to give you a few extra pennies in your piggy bank.

If the union calls for us to come
together in a different way, we’ll all be on board. Until then, follow the guidance and look at the bigger picture.

Everyone please be aware that there are UPS mangers pretending ti be pilots posting on this thread taking careful notes and collecting data if needed. Don't be tricked into having a debate on picking up or not picking up JA's or open time. Everything uou say can and will be used against the IPA

Negotiations

I’ll put it as simple as possible, do the work of 1 pilot. Any manager can do as he pleases with that. Curious where you get this info, are you buds with a manager? Pretending to be a pilot, that is perfect!

I guess I really struck a nerve with you. Strange you would be so defensive

Thanks for sharing, but nobody is trying to force anyone to do anything. That’s not how it works.

The person I quoted in my text made it sounds it’s a violation against the RLA not to fly historical OT times.

Not really, just curious how you would be in the know on something like this. Sometimes I am surprised at how much guys buddy up to managers. Perfect example is someone once shared their log on to the B&G to one of these guys, I guess I just don't get it. I try to keep it on a professional level only with them, don't socialize with them in ops, layovers, etc..

Another reason our message board software is beyond it's expiration date. While MFA login wouldn't stop the above it would definitely make it more secure.

This isn’t the B&G. Nothing here stops a mgmt pilot from creating an account and stating they are a UPS pilot. In fact, that’s a true statement. It stands to reason that mgmt guys are present and contributing here. Even more so than the B&G, you can assume that notes are being made about statements made here.

I don’t think the concern is for any individual making decisions that are best for them. The problem would arise if open time acceptance rates suddenly plummeted across the pilot group. That would look like an organized action & you can be sure UPS would flag it.

To answer your question no. Im not friends with any managers. How do I know this? Can you tell me you haven't at least wondered they wouldn't be on here ( anyone can register ) Anyways take it for what it's worth.
