I think his statement was tongue in cheek & based off comments made by one of our newer guys on the B&G.
FWIW, in case anyone missed the thread on the bar & grill (don’t blame you if you’re not checking in there), dues increases during negotiations are de rigueur here and have been an IPA feature for at least the last three contracts. This isn’t a money grab or anything nefarious. This is the EB making a (very reasonable imo) ask for additional resources from the membership. There are plenty of things to critique the EB on, but this ain’t one of them. Give ‘em the support they ask for until you’re presented with a TA. At that point you can decide whether an acceptable agreement was negotiated & vote accordingly.

Agree, voted in favor of this, give them what they NEED. I would not object to seeing a line item budget on how this money is spent, after all it is our money. I know after the 2016 contract there was a significant surplus, although I can’t recall the amount. I hope the goal is to not complete this negotiation with a certain amount of money left for next time. After all, it will probably be 10 years down the road.

It’s getting better. Sequestering the politics section helped quite a bit. 3-5 trolls remain - restricting / banning / censoring them, whatever you want to call it (Burger King especially), would pretty much clean it up entirely. Regardless, a community filled with type-A, know it all pilots, will always consist of strong opinions.

Bump!!!
4 days left! High engagement sends a big message to UPS. Hint, they want a low turnout! Industry leading contracts don’t come from a complacent pilot group.
