Okay.

The point I was originally going towards was that they hire extremely skilled/experienced pilots, yet still have a decent number of guys washing out.
It's surprising considering other airlines do not hire with such a high requirement.
It's funny considering the "pilot shortage".
It's interesting that they can still have such high mins.

It has nothing to do with my application.
I was providing information about UPS hiring... like the title of the thread.
I enjoyed my time with the recruiter who was helpful and honest and personally hired three of my coworkers recently. I'll keep updating with each additional TPIC hour I get with the hopes of one day getting the chance.

Good luck with that. Maybe that recruiter can tell you how!

Haha, I think luck is the name of the game. He couldn't provide any go-to way of getting hired other than thousands of hours of PIC, heavy time, and the importance of face-to-face at job fairs. I've got 2 out of 3...

They can still be very picky.

I meant he he can tell you how to update your resume. Seems impossible

Ahhhh. Gotcha.
Seems different for everyone! My file is "Active" and I can update the entire thing without a problem. Yet I have only 500TPIC.
No idea what's going on there.

You answered your own question. You are not competitive. UPS can choose to be choosy because it's a highly desirable airline to work for. They get way more applicants than positions available.

Keep getting your -8 TPIC and maybe one day you can fly the real thing. :D

Can you troll any harder??

I have 2000 hours on the 747-8. So tell me, what's the "real thing"?

How many is that TPIC? Face it. You are not competitive. You left to go to a commuter to get TPIC. Come back when you are competitive.

Troll on, dude.

What exactly is your point? What is wrong with getting TPIC quicker at a regional? He is not competitive right now and he admitted it. His heavy time will probably allow him to take the Hogan fairly soon after 1000 TPIC...He is frustrated. That's just how the process is at UPS. No reason to knock someone down.

WhiskeyKilo 08-12-2017 05:46 PM

For a guy like me who is looking to get hired at UPS the question then becomes: should I continue at a regional and obtain 1000 TPIC or should I bail for another carrier, such as Atlas or Kalitta, to obtain heavy time?
