Over the barber pole, huh? Last time I checked MMO was .825. Worst winds I've ever seen was 190 knots in the face on the NATS in December. My groundspeed was down around 260 for over an hour. Really sucks when your trying to meet an ARCT.

205! I don't think we got that on my NRT flight home last year. Day late and dollar short as always.

This doesn't beat the best record on GSrecords.com, but: (SR-22)

Unfortunately I cut off the speed part of the wind vector, but I'm sure you can figure it out....

two nights ago had a 16 knot wind at the surface, 70 knots at 7000 feet (2000 AGL) and 85 at 9000 ft. Pure headwind on the ILS.

Sorry for the poor photo quality. It was not much of a camera.

The only shot I have of any ridiculous winds...
Mind you we were on a heading of about 315 (the opposite direction), giving us a -1.3 kt ground speed, doing slow flight training during my private instruction.

Yep, did my private with Don (while he was there for a few months) and Ryan, then my instrument with Lindsey. I figured since all of the schools in the area charge the same rate, why not go to the one that has the biggest choice of aircraft (Archer III with the dual 430's, 172's with steam or glass, Trinidad, Seminole, 182 with the full G1000 suite). I'm beginning to fly down at FME at the flying activity soon though (did a VFR checkout in a T-41 in Jan... what a plane!)
