Come on man!! There is a "Pilot Shortage" looming for the past decade! You're gonna be a high priced commodity soon.

Constructive comments or advice greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance ........
What about a sim instructor job? Great way to give back all that experience you have, and keep the market clear for the young ones.

The way I read his post, he wants to fly. If that's the case he should fly. He will probably give back plenty serving as a mentor while enjoying his flying as well.

True that, he also said we won't mind flying pistons.
So what about a CFI job, gives back, serves as a mentor, keeps flying.

Lemme see....

Do I want to fly a corporate jet or possibly turboprop or cabin class twin or would I rather flail around the sky in the right seat of a 152/172 watching someone else do the flying.

I'd be up nights wrestling with that tough decision!

What about just retiring, enjoying life, and leave some space to someone that really needs to work.

Maybe the "enjoying life" you refer to would require some flying for him. If he wants to fly then he needs to fly too.
Happiness is a personal thing.

Ya...15 years of flying,4 companies out of business and major paycuts, insurance cut and never told. Pay freezes and constantly lied too.

Ya that's pretty much aviation, I think?

Maybe save something decent for us loosers.

Get a fishing pole and go to the Smokies is what I'd do.

Sid,

How do you know he doesn't need to work? Maybe he still has kids in college. Or a wife with an expensive, non-covered medical problem. Or maybe he's just not ready to hang up his spurs quite yet. You should be thankful he's trying to get that Part 91 gig. It opens up his Major 121 seat for someone like you.
