True, I have not thought of the sick family issues.
Anything less then that, he would be like one of those boxers that don't want to retire. He would be better teaching.

And, you know that how? Pretty nervy telling other people how to live their lives. I've got one of the sharpest pilots imaginable in my department, 70 years young. Financially, doesn't need to work a day; still loves to fly and it shows.

In that case, I think is taking someone else job.

And who's job might that be? Don't remember anyone quitting a job that they wanted OR needed to give me one on my way up. (And I didn't expect it)

Not to be rude and personal but where do you get off thinking it's OK for YOU to be the judge of how one lives their life after an airline career?

A 70 year old with a passion as well as a gift for flying has my respect, those with the move over FOR ME attitude do not.

For a guy who is "sooooo damn happy in the airlines"... you spend an awful lot of time in the corporate section of these forums spewing your "knowledge". Seriously, go fishing.

Actually, he does quite well managing a horse farm, rebuilding classic cars and generally being busy.

1) The job of a young up and coming, for sure I don't want it.

2) Same place where you did.

A 70 year old with a passion, should be use it to teach the others.
Unless like someone pointed, he has some family issue for which he needs more money, that 70 year old retired legacy, in my opinion is just hogging.
What about the move over for the young ones attitude.
