Crazy. Hopefully, each crew reported the issue to ALPA so that they can look into it.

Back when Delta actually trained its pilots, the cockpit panels were often mounted on a trainee's hotel walls and used for chair flying in between bouts of studying systems and preparing for orals.

Yes, but then we got MD88's and nothing worked the way it was supposed to and they figured ... to hell with it. If you teach them how it supposed to work then they just ask a lot of questions and write it up at outstations.

Don't do anything else unless the Captain or QRH tell you to.
Indeed. And if you're the Captain?

With 25 year upgrade ... you will figure it out by then.

Ask FTB for his MD88 Cockpit Flow diagrams

As a new hire I asked about recommended flows and was told "I dunno ... you figure it out." Asked about ESV gouge and was told "we all failed it, but we aren't flying Delta jets, you are." After that I stopped asking questions and started studying.

This picture goes well with how my night went. 23K with no recovery... 18 hours of pay to drive to the airport and back. I love it!

I'm guessing the mounting to the wall hotel walls stopped since trainees have unlimited access to the CAPT trainers.
