Sounds like they've switched to a virtual decision board. It used to be fairly predictable when the board was, and when you could expect a call. Not so much now. I know it's a tough wait, but with your references called you're certainly on the right track.

Well I'm no expert, still waiting to go to class, actually.
It seems like having references called at least means that the interview team felt that you have a good chance to get through the decision board. I don't think the company wastes money and resources on complete screw ups.
That being said, there is a reason they call references, and I'm sure they get a few skeletons that they didn't know about on occasion. I believe those are the dudes who "have their refs called" but get the TBNT email.

I just came from Dallas doing my AQP. Told they added 2 more classes for the year for a total of 16 classes in 2015. Also told they would be continuing hiring into 2016. Just finished my first year. Reserve is reserve, but if you live in a domicile it really is not that bad (not my situation). I average 110-120 trips per month on reserve not picking up any extra days. Usually work 16 and have 14-15 off a month. Good Luck to all.

You might be a little careful there. Many, many of us didn't make it through on our first interview. On my first one I never had my references called and, as expected I didn't get hired.
A few years later I gave it another try and was successful.
Although my wife seems to think I'm a complete screw up, I'm not sure I'm ok with YOU saying it.

Point taken, poor choice of words. Drinks on me if I ever run into you!
And you're exactly right, I know several outstanding airman who were shot down their first interview.
The point I was trying to make, and please take with a grain of salt because I'm a nobody, is that it seems that people who the interview team isn't confident in never have their references called, and don't get hired.
