Talking to a few dudes that work at SWA, they don't call your references unless you pass the interview and you can get a copy of the background check to see if you passed that. From what I'm told, if you get the TBNT at that point, it's most likely based on something they heard talking to references. They also sometimes find their own people to talk to outside of who you provide. Usually calling for someone else and they ask if that reference knows you by any chance. Sorry to hear about the TBNT, I know a few solid dudes who didn't get hired and it doesn't seem to make sense.

I was hired by Compass and Delta before my SWA interview so I apparently have some "good dude" qualities... That said, The folks who got hired in my class had zero confidence and were profusely sweating after the interview...

Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain I don't want my family being flown around by unconfident pilots... Firm believer that all things happen for a reason... So... I'm upset, but know it's for the best...

I thought I did well in my interview (back in 2006) but I did not do any formal prep. I had all my refs called. My buddies who worked there talked to a few CPs and heard my name went before the DB, but since I had stopped flying for the regionals a year and half prior to the interview (and had taken a desk job), that is what likely killed my chances. It's always something. All you can do is try again...

Plus...if you have already been hired by Delta (did I read that right?) then it sounds like you already have a good job lined up. No worries...

Dude, that is most definitely a "put down".

If you do have a Delta job offer, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't get many of the jobs that I interviewed for over the years, some I think I know why, and others I have no idea. Thankfully, I got the SW job offer and am looking forward to joining the team but even if I didn't get the SW offer, I still would have had a positive regard for the company, it's employees, and those that interviewed with me (hence, why would I even apply?). Win with class, and lose with class.. (carryover from my old Football days, but fits well in life).
