Spirit of NKS, Part II

I too am surprised they would even consider this.
That said ...
You realize you -yes, YOU- are the leader of this group. I know you get it, but you better spread the word to your BBQ group: there's a big difference b/t wanting to get unlimited "JA pay" and wanting to get rid of the limitation on JA's in the CBA.
There's a guy in this very thread who will "not vote for a contract with a JA limitation." That thinking has got to be banished from this group, and it must be done forecefully and aggressively, since it appears it has infected even the Negotiating Committee.
Spirit pilots, if you don't want the JA language changed (not premium pay for open time pickups, but JA - they're NOT the same), write the Negotiations Committee and CC your LEC rep and tell them not to change the JA language!

Ive heard a lot of "new guys" saying that they love Spirits business plan. Do they actually think they are an exception to the rule of saving every cent and doing everything on the cheap?
Have you guys been counting on this new contract as the final step in completing your career plan? Just curious what you guys are thinking.

Theres nothing wrong with the business plan, it's the execution that sucks. Getting the passengers who wouldn't be able to afford to fly isn't a bad plan at all, making tickets cheap when the other airlines charge an arm and a leg is pretty smart. Contracting everything out and ****ing off our passengers is pretty stupid.

As far as the JRM language goes, anything that limits my ability to earn OR reduces my qol through a change in work rules is going to be a no vote for me.

I'm not "new" and I've said it many times. I think what people mean is the company doesn't spend money on annoying commercials like SWA does every six seconds during Football games. We don't have lounges for "Diamond preferred flyers" or whatever the F---- legacy airlines call them. We don't give free food, we don't have first class etc......

Right. All three airlines are shooting for different part of the market. As in the stock market a rising tide raises all boats. What remains to be seen is who keeps flying during $150 oil when/if it comes. Biz travel, football watching middle class, or ulcc fliers. As fuel expense rises, well paid vs cheap/ outsourced no benefit labor and offering other amenities vs nothing actually become less a portion of costs in ticket prices.
