I am not sure. But there is no pressure on me either. Things move more slowly in Europe than here. It would be a slam dunk if it were just against AWAC. But I am hoping for a real career here in the US with one of two or three companies in the future.

I have spent way too long on the right seat in general (6+ years now) and am too close to the upgrade for me to return to Europe for another long stint as F/O.

After the collapse of Swissair in 2001 and the re-incarnation of the company as SWISS Int. a lot of guys were furloughed. I was over there last week and talked to a guy who has 18 years of seniority and just now is getting close to the upgrade on the 320. He is right seat on the A340 at the moment.

I am 'swimming in the pool' over there if I want it. But I am taking it easy for the moment.

But don't mistake my sticking with AWAC for the moment with being content at AWAC. Nothing could be further from the truth.

To get back to the point, the DCA commute is not bad. But it is very expensive to live here. I'll be moving out and just crashpadding it in the future. Unless you can afford it, it's no fun. Too bad, because otherwise it could be a nice area. Lot's of 'talent' if you know what I mean!!!

There is quite a bit of "talent" in DCA. The problem is that sometimes, that much talent can get you in trouble. This I know my friend, this I know...

Yes Boiler I know... This has been brought to my attention for quite some time now... More or less, this would be less of "a quick upgrade" kind of thing and more of "an increase in QOL" kind of thing...

Doing a three-legger from Grand Forks to Norfolk, I'd definitely understand a lateral move improving QOL, even if it was for a cut in compensation.

Did you hear the story of the 7xxx CA at Wiskey that left to be a FO at Skywest just so he wouldn't have to commute from Denver?

There was also a pretty senior FO that left for SkyWest when their MKE base was annouced going junior.

SkyWest seems to have taken a pretty good foothold in the midwest and west coasts. Probably only a matter of time until they hit the east coast as well...
