Default couple questions

1. Would it be a good idea for someone who lives in southwest Florida (closest airport to me is RSW) to get with air wisconsin?

2. How fast are the upgrades? Seems many other regionals have quick upgrades around 18-24 months.

Any place you don’t have to commute apparently is key.

Can’t answer your second question.

What regionals have 18-24 month upgrade, most are 24-36 month from what I’ve been reading. Better question, what regionals have low reserve times like ZW?

He probably had previous 121 time. If one is going in with zero 121 time I would plan on at least a year on a half to upgrade... and that’s assuming you don’t sit on reserve for a while.

Yeah, a surprising number of people who got 500 hours of 121 time a decade ago before deciding they simply couldn’t live on $1600 a month and left the industry are being lured back in by hiring bonuses.

Unless you know for sure what the person’s history is, DOH of junior captains don’t mean much anymore.

I’m not debating this. I’m certain they had previous 121 experience. I spoke to 4 of the other fast upgrades and they all have prior 121 time.
I’ll agree that someone with zero 121 experience, it’ll take 18-24 months to upgrade.
There’s a slew of FOs in IAD who have chosen to bypass until the can hold IAD.
Commuting to an outstation base, to put it plain and simple, sucks.

Why not Envoy? They have a Miami base?

Commuting from SW FL will most likely be two flights.
