Delta doesn't have enough 175s to cover their 70/76-seat scope. That's it.

9E is primarily DTW, MSP, and ATL right now because Delta can put 900s on poorer routes. Some of the places that we fly are just happy that they have two-class jet service. Someone heading from Fort Wayne to Atlanta isn't going to ***** about seat 1A in a 900; someone flying from LaGuardia to Buffalo might. The cabin is tighter. The plane is louder. The windows aren't very big. Gate-checked luggage sucks.

9E is clearly in second place to any 175 provider when it comes to any route that Delta can make a **** ton of money on.

Hindsight being what it is, I bet Delta wishes they could dump the 900.

If they could trade them one for one with 175s, then they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Psa hasn’t received any new 900s in years , according to my friend who works there .
I don’t think 9e has either . Are they still producing the 900? I don’t think they are .

No. Skywest took delivery of the last 900 last Summer.

9E got its last new 900 last year.

I'll revise my previous answer. Delta would trade 900s for 175s one for one in a heartbeat, assuming that the 900s aren't way cheaper.

No. Only the E-175 is in production is my understanding. My understanding is no 50 seater is in production, either. None in Canada and none in Brazil.
