To put that another way, the STC you posted is applicable to the 700 (cl6002c10) & the 550 (…2C11).

The 550 is a 700 that has been reconfigured into a 50 seat triple class aircraft with its MTOW reduced to fit under scope.
CL-600-2C10 converted into a 2C11. It’s not a clean sheet aircraft. It’s an interior and paperwork modification.

Another way to look at it is no 550s have rolled off the assembly line in Montreal. They were all 700s that were converted to 550s. The STC becomes the de facto new TC.

The STC you posted can apply to this “new” plane, that stc does not itself make a 700 a 550.

Sooooo dramatic my God, we have more flying than we have had in years and are hiring like gangbusters, new types and profitable every quarter last year. Hardly running on fumes.

Live for today , plan for tomorrow Kirby told everyone what his plans are . All of that flying that you’re overwhelmed with is eventually going away , as unfortunate as that might be .

Actually it's not *all* going away. 200 airframes are going away by 2026 and they want to increase the 550s. A lot is going away, but definitely not all.
