Air Wisconsin is advertising a $150,000 bonus for direct entry captains. I doubt they would do that if they didn’t have an imbalance. Air Wisconsin also has 20 of their 63 aircraft parked, which means the only regional in worse shape is GoJet. Not everyone deals with the same problem in the same way. They probably want to stockpile FOs because they won’t be able to hire as many when hiring picks up at the better regionals.

What are the flight benefits like for Air Wisconsin? Do family members/ significant others get them as well?

Previously on the American side, parents, dependants and spouse (1 friend if not married) got flight benefits. When transitioned to the united system, was upgraded to spouse+1 friend or 2 friends if no spouse. Not sure what the American benefits are this time around as I left in the United system.

Yeah, but I hear its both a tough interview and even tougher training program. It's training program is targeted toward someone with 121 time. Unless its changed. If not then... Not sure a 1500 guy coming from instructing would find it too easy. Does it happen, could it happen, yes. Also, its not AQP.

This is true. I think they give you like what, 5 sims before the checkride? its only for people with prior 121 experience. Even those with prior 121 jet experience fail. Frontier's training is 10000000000000000x better

I went to Spirit years ago. It would be harder for people with no 121 time forsure. It was 4 sims with the 5th being the check ride actually. Despite this, it was very easy. No one in my class needed any extra training. It sounds bad, but you showed up prepared by the end of it. What people don't talk about is you fly like 5 or 6 things in a GFS which is quite literally a sim without motion. Some people got lucky and did those in the real sim. Don't confuse this with the touch screen GFS things that other airlines use. Spirit had those as well and you do use them, but taht is during systems and what they called systems integration training aka SIT. The first time you touch a sim you're doing full profiles with v1 cuts and multiple approaches.

I have heard from my friends still there that they are adding more to the training footprint for people with no 121 or very little 121.
