As far as the scheduling goes.... I never dealt with requests. But I scheduled long enough to know some common themes.

1. Your requests aren't really real and your personal life doesn't really matter. (If you get the reference, I'd approve your request, if I was still there )
2. Some coordinators are more easy going than others.... so SOMETIMES a literal resubmit might suffice.
3. As far as the coverage goes. There might be ONE reserve. They might get done at 2200. The next day, you might have trip A on your line and trip B in open time. Trip B in open might start at 1000. Trip A on your line might start at 0400. It could be the same amount of days, same credit, same over nights, same everything. But the one reserve in this scenario would only be able to cover one trip due to 117.
4. As much as ZW says no.... if you don't ask, the answer is ALWAYS no.
5. When in doubt, see item 1.

YMMV. This opinion does not reflect that of my former employer's or coworkers. I'm just an anonymous person punching letters into a keyboard. I may have NEVER worked at ZW for all you know.

Lol! That's funny. I was just going to say my success rate for drops is around 70%. I'm always very friendly in the comment box. Im beginning to think a lot of people never write anything and blindly submit.

I don't know, but being nice and respectful has helped me out big time with things and some were getting entire 2 days dropped over integration! 😮

Calling in sick doesn't count as a successful drop. ;P

I've been nothing but nice in the comments and when I call. What I want to write in the notes is "if this swap isn't approved I'm calling in sick! Good luck with that early coverage now!"

Also. For what it's worth. I don't use "no" in my normal lexicon. I use "request denied". Like I said. For what it's worth =P

Yup. I've done that too. I put a swap in that was mutually beneficial or so I thought. It was denied. Sick.
