When does GoJets contract end? How about Trans States? How long does ExpressJet have left in its contract to fly 145s? Is there any flying already in place after those contracts are up? No? Ok, guess they are shutting down upon completion of their contracts then.
You people, we are contractors. The fact that our contracts expire at some point isn't evidence that our companies are going out of business. It's another day in the life. It sucks, but its business as usual. If you think you can actually predict what will or won't happen you are an immature fool. Any guessing of this sort is pure speculation. You want to speculate, go try your hand at the stock market. You'll probably lose and learn a tangible lesson in speculation.
It sucks that we still haven't heard anything, but absence of an announcement isn't evidence of anything. Don't try to read too much into everyday things going on in search of something to hold on to or base a decision off of. You'll drive yourself nuts, and probably be wrong.

AAG had the opportunity to extend the real contract for a couple of years now, but hasn't. If AWAC hadn't executed the "escape clause", then AWAC would already be done and AAG wouldn't have cared.

AWAC's contract was actually up quite a while ago. The management exercised an "escape clause" at the end more than a year ago which made the last contract automatically extendable for 2 more years, but resulted in the forced parking of airplanes as well as the amount of money that AAG was paying to AWAC to be cut. AWAC is getting quite a bit less now than they were before this.

From pdt fb....I’m pleased to announce that American is committing additional regional jets to Piedmont starting in 2017. These new deliveries will begin in January and continue throughout the year. In advance of this expansion of our E145 fleet, we will increase the number of pilots training on the E145 and will...

It was a decent gamble on AA's part to not renew AWAC's contract right away. Why would they? They knew we had no other carriers to fly for once the Delta deal fell through. And why not keep the same product for a cheaper rate for a whole 2 years?
The fact that ZW had to use the extension doesn't bother me so much, but if this silence continues into the winter, I dunno....

You are proving my point. Some of you speak as though you have a seat at the executives table. You don't. You get tiny crumbs of information here and there, and think it's enough to make a determination about the future. If you think the extension clause is as simple as you are making it, or that from CDs email you have all the relevant information, you have your head up your a$$.

This has helped, I've been doing this the last week or so. Just knowing that I CAN leave, makes me feel a little better. while it may suck to start over when I thought I would be here for a while, it's comforting knowing I have options that will take me after checking my heartbeat.
I have my plan B and C ready if I need it. Personally, I think Air Wisconsin will be around for at least another half decade, but I can't afford to be out of a job and I don't have the will-power to be downgraded to reserve if AWAC shrinks.
I'd be chuffed if we stayed, but I'm prepared to leave.
