I can guarantee you that our LCA's are not bidding to fly right seat. I know cause I'm one of them. When they are not bidding a line, it usually means they are planed to do line checks that month.

I could be 100% wrong and I hope that I am. I have just heard it multiple times now from multiple people that it is happening. Again, I hope this is inaccurate info.

The LCAs were pulled by scheduling to fly four day trips in Dec as FOs as part of an FAA approved "Data gathering" program... I have no idea what the data gathering is for but...this is real.

I've flown a few trips with LCAs in the right seat. Reading the contract, the company is following it. They're only flying as no other FOs are available.
The LCAs don't like it any more than we do. Why do it? If they don't, then it's insubordination.
It does stink. I agree.
But the LCAs I've flown with all say "I'm just the FO. I'm not doing OE. You're the Captain. I'm just along for the ride."
I've had no issues with any of them.
I wish the company the best of luck trying to recruit new hires.
They've seem to be very few of them.

Maybe it is for the "mentorship" program?

I'm curious as to how they got approval. We have had only a few upgrades in the past year, which is typically the mentoring timeframe, at least for IOE. How do you get approval to "mentor" a 9 year captain?

In my travels today I saw 3 captain on captain crews... things have officially gotten weird. That, plus the minus 10 FO differential speaks volumes.

I know somebody who got junior manned on the front side of a four day and then again on the back side.

It's over. Pack your bags and go someplace else.

They aren't saying anything because they have nothing to say. Any good news would be great news at this point.

If you're sticking around with hopes of future flying here, I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Hell, i woukdnt bet a nickle. Everyone has their reasons for staying. I just hope everyone has a plan b.

Typically when they get short they pull a plane. Wonder why they haven't done that yet. The way I see it, they have two choices;

Announce some flying, or an extension which is doubtful because they likely dont have anything signed, or

Announce retention bonuses for those willing to stick it out.

Otherwise this company will never make it to 2018 with the resignation rate we're currently seeing
