The blue is too light, and the hat emblem and wings are dumb looking.

Other than that, I don't care. Brown shoes are fine, I'll just wear some doc martens. I'm sure they'll hate that...

I don’t expect ALPA to agree, easy as that!
This needs to happen, and we need to write our reps and make it happen. The union response should be "we don't agree." Full stop.

Brown and blue looks decent IMHO. HOWEVER... they had BETTER be paying for every single thing, especially because introducing brown to an industry that has worn black forever is such a radical shift, and that's on them alone. That includes new socks - no more black socks.

Also, the fact that she just had to put those little tick marks on the shirt collar really chaps my a$$: the implication, of course, is that we can't substitute our own plain white pilot shirt that already fits and has comfortable, breathable, stretchy, fabric and a padded collar, we have to wear THEIR plain white pilot shirt that will probably be made out of $hitty fabric that you have to iron every single day that won't have a padded collar, and they'll be able to tell because your shirt that you've worn for years doesn't have those obnoxious tick marks. Again - they'd better at least be paying for this nonsense

Yes, if I have to wear brown shoes, I'm not going to wear the designer ones that were featured yesterday. I plan on buying just regular brown shoes or the same ones worn by naval aviators.

Anyway, I already wrote to the chair of the uniform committee. I'll be seeing a couple of my reps on Monday and will definitely give them my feedback.

Hate to break this to you, but if the Company is showing it, the Union already agreed to it.

I agree that they should at least buy the first set of uniforms. After that, if they want me to wear those shirts with the tick marks, they need to give us a uniform allotment, at least $200/year. It actually needs to be more. When I first got hired at my regional in 2001, we had $200/year allotment and it didn't go far. It's 17 years later and everything is more expensive, especially if they are designed by some hifalutin fashion designer.

No allotment and I'm going to buy my own white shirts and I might be inclined to go buy pants from Kohl's (which I already do) or Costco.

As for socks, wear whatever you like. I wear compression socks, so they are not exactly all black. If someone gives me crap about it, I'll tell them to mind their own business. I've never had anyone give me grief about wearing them.

I'm with you on the shirt though, I'm sure they'll have bigger fish to fry for quite awhile. Worst case scenario just find some sharpies that match the colors;-)

The hangar was dark. That royal blue will be very bright in the sunlight. Brown leather jacket reminds me of WWII pilots, which I like but don't like the style. Their choice of leather jacket design is too fashionable for a pilot group. My friend brought up a good point, how about using UPS pilot's brown uniform jacket? Keeps the professional aviator uniform look. That new brown leather jacket design looks cold for preflights. And I know I won't be wearing stylish dress shoes for walk arounds. Keep the old wings! And yes they better be paying for uniforms. We have to buy all new stuff. Everything yesterday is new to us including socks and shoes. $$$$

I wonder how many of those making fashion comments wear New Balance 805s and tuck t-shirts into their jean shorts...
