Y’all are forgetting where you work. 68.4% of the original Alaska pilots are Ben’s Secret Sauce. They were hired for their yes vote only.
Not because they were Superior pilots but because to them it is more important to be an Alaskan Pilot then a pilot with a mature, stable legacy contract.....Good luck

Right now we could think of ourselves as having 1000 seat scope protection. We are protected because the airplane doesn’t exist. Is reducing the scope protection from 1000 seats to 90 seats a worthwhile endeavor? I think it is a clear yes. It would eliminate a lot of nightmare scenarios regarding scope (787’s flown by Atlas with eskimos on the tail) and create a beachhead where one does not presently exist going into 2020.
I disagree. The problem with this idea is as follows.

Although we don't have a scope clause that limits seat count at 76, management is currently not subcontracting aircraft with more than 76 seats. If we vote for 90 because it's better than theoretically infinite, the next day they order 90 seat jets. Do you know how long you have to wait to get 76 seat scope if there are 90 seat jets on property? Until they wear out. In my opinion, don't sign off on something you don't want, just because it might be better than what you currently have.

I'd rather take a wound inflicted by management than a wound that's self-inflicted.

You know why everyone knows it’s not BS... because no one would care then. Everything I have written is as true.

Hey Tripple B

How was your week, sorry forgot to ask. Looks like you are playing for the New England Patriots, that’s right the 85 version and yes that means we were the 85 Bears. For the first time in my career ALPA finally got it right. Mr. F and Mr. P were sensational. Honestly, that was unbelievable. Every AS pilot needs to send those gentleman a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Lable. I mean that, these two gentlemen saved your careers!

How do you figure Mr. F and Mr. P from Bredhoff & Kaiser saved the Alaska pilots careers this early in the arbitration process?

Atta boy!

Less than 76 is the fix

I would wait on the blue label until the award comes out. Remember this is arbitration, and AS pilots get f@&ked in every arbitration.

I kinda live by the mantra 'beggars can't be choosers' and right now AS pilots don't have jack *******.

Going without scope is insane in this day and age. OO could easily squander off the Expressjet flying and put A320's on the cert for AS. It's still a separate airline and not subject to Delta/UA/AA's scope like skywest flying is.
