I'm fine with that.

An airline whose only selling point is "Great Service" is now a bunch of carry-on bag Nazis.

Can't make this ******* up.

From a paying customer's point of view - AS is the "everyone gets a trophy" airline.

Their definition of "elite" frequent flyer pretty much guarantees that anyone who lives in AK and makes even occasional trips to the lower 48 is going to achieve that status.

The result is that when they call the 8-12 actual first class passengers to board, in the next 2.7 second, they also call their MVP members. When that happens, 90% of the people in the board area stand up (if they're not already in the line of people waiting). Good luck in the ensuing free-for-all.

Good crews and service once you're on board, so no complaints there. I check my bag, so I don't have much experience with the latest carry-on fiasco.

I have yet to see this. Most Alaska crews I’ve come across seem extremely grumpy, even more grumpy than I am.

I actually go out of my way to be friendly to the almighty Alaska pilots because it makes them uncomfortable.

It would be nice to run into a VX crew that went out of their way to be friendly. As of late, I can't even get a "hi" in return. Oh well, I've had plenty of good interactions with ExVx and won't let it poison how I view the group as a whole. OCCP, on behalf of all the AS pilots, hello, welcome to the company, I hope you have a good next flight!

More than one legacy VX Gate Agent has told me that when they try to chat up the legacy AS pilots, many are clearly uncomfortable/aloof....

Maybe that's why they don't bother to anymore?

They better get used to it; I see that attitude among the AK FAs too. Not everyone of course but, its going to be a while before we're one big family.
