I haven’t seen much in the way of cutting flying. I have seen a planned increase in service out of SAN and a transfer of flying from those pesky little planes to mainline a/c is apparently happening this summer. Those look like old articles. Do you have any current info/numbers to support your claim?
Hopefully there's room enough for everyone in the Hawaii market but let's be honest here, this will be a battle for business in the California-Hawaii market. Hawaiian, Alaska and Southwest will be competing for many of the same passengers and the associated credit card revenue, which is a very big deal in itself. There's no denying that.

Just refuting the statement that Alaska wins the battle against SWA in every market they compete in. That's simply not the case.

California, you ask...Yes, we are doing well. Mileage plan is making significant inroads and we are tracking better then expected, better then we had hoped for at this point. Transcontinental yields are off, and we are experiencing some headwinds there. Going forward I am confident these trends will change and so will our results. In the next 9 months we will surprise many on this board and Wall Street.

I didn’t say “we win every time”. I did however say we do very well. I did say if Alaska could pick its competitor, every time we would say “red rover red rover send Southwest on over!” I don’t want to get myself in trouble but the numbers would shock most of you. In fairness historical data does not always predict the future. I have tremendous respect for Southwest and I am confident they will do very well flying to Hawaii.

And if I say we are going to “shock Wall Street” and you say “Wall street disagrees” ??? What does that even mean. So if they will not be shocked, then is that because they already know it’s true? Re-lax give it some time. Get back to us in August for an update and 2025 for your synopsis.

You sir are clueless. The numbers are almost the reciprocal.

I apologize..., I didn’t realize you had one of our senior Captains on your jumseat... I am so embarrassed and on a public forum. A thousand apologies, I was wrong you are a moron. How many RJ’s do we have total flying for us? How many 737/320’s? Are you capable of handling math equations where the sum is greater then 10?
Re-lax niether of us can be wrong or right for years. You can’t prove your right in the future. Time will tell. Check back enjoy, you have a great job at a great company!

So for us morons, just how many ERJs do you have flying for you? Honest question. I sure see a lot of Eskimos painted on Barbie Jets. Care to answer? And it's "than", not "then". But us morons went to 6th grade English class so there's that. And the "Sum"? Looks like we didn't quite make the grade in math class either but I'm guessing about 20% being "scoped out".
sum
/səm/Submit
noun
1.
a particular amount of money.
"they could not afford such a sum"
synonyms: amount, quantity, volume More
2.
the total amount resulting from the addition of two or more numbers, amounts, or items.
"the sum of two prime numbers"
synonyms: total, sum total, grand total, tally, aggregate, summation, gross; answer
"the sum of two prime numbers"
then and than... well done... You win
Since you are a math wizard, ERJ’s make up 17% of our total fleet count. They are much less of our total capacity on a percentage basis.
