They can still train and still fly as a CA all summer and then their effective reduction would be September 1, which they could also extend 60 days longer if they needed them. I am not going to argue it’s the best way, but the bus departure is going to produce some weird outcomes over the next 18mos. This summer is a bandaid. We will have 10 Airbus on property by late fall of 2023.

Why reduce the Airbus when we are purchasing an Airbus operator?

Because our Airbus’s are old besides the NEO’s.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic.

You're just a walking contradiction. You say they're being efficient, but these guys won't have enough time in the left seat to even consolidate before being displaced.

What a waste. What a tease.
I'd also say there's a greater chance that the company cancels their Airbus training outright in the name of efficiency.

The company has no idea what it's doing and is jerking us around in the process.

“chaos, I mean absolute chaos”… If they fly all summer and the first 60 of the fall? I don’t know. Oh, I never said they were being efficient. I think the larger April or May bid is the most likely because it fits the best with Nov or Dec effective. The next 18 mos will be pretty crazy. Your points a valid one, I guess we will see how it works out. There is definitely going to be some waste, part of that is our contract, foiling what management would do without those restrictions. Those restrictions create and protect a lot of jobs though.

Agreed. Having two fleet types really helped in the decision to furlough vs no furlough. Two fleets makes it complicated. A single fleet would have been an easy downgrade and furlough. Recalls would have been quick too. But forcing people from Bus to Boeing and vice versa complicated things. Good for us.

Kinda, aren’t some of the lease rates pretty horrible from what we had at VX?

Actually as a fleet they aren't that old. Go talk to UAL and see what an old 320 looks like.
