I haven't heard from anyone. I did follow up- still nothing. While I was there, some guys with low time told me the Chief they met with was asking for PIC time. Maybe that's what they're looking for now...?

I did a M&G 2 months ago and was recommended for interview but haven't heard anything since. Back channel word is they are backed up and slowing down interviewing. Something about no new hire classes in May to allow training center to catch up. Successful interview to class seems to be about 5 months too.

All of the airbuses will go away in Sep, so they'll need to transition 100+ pilots all at once in that timeframe.

More like 200 pilots to transition. Management has quietly built a pause in the growth plan for this fall, as they assess the economy and seat demand. I would anticipate significant pilot hiring Q1 2124. That would mean lots of calls going out this fall, class dates in early 2024.

Unless people change their bids, there will be a significant number of displacements out of LAX. Right now there is really only a shift in flying, most near term growth is capacity and not airframes. Almost all of the growth appears to be heading to SFO.

So... you're saying things will get better once these European MD80s are gone
