Default Alaska Airlines Meet the Chiefs

Has anyone attended one of these? Is it like the other industry meet the chiefs where job offers are extended? I went to the Spirit and frontier versions and got a CJO from frontier. But, Alaska is my first choice since I live in the PNW and love it here. I’m short of the new 1,000 hr turbine time requirement, but that’s all. I’m typed in the 737 with about 300 hours in type and a college degree. Will this help me get on sooner?

Any help is welcome, thanks in advance!

Having a connection with a very senior management pilot or CP seems to be crucial for hires with low times or not quite meeting requirements. I'd do it. Good luck.

Why isn't Delta your first choice? SEA 321 captain is 2 years at DL and you'll actually have a chance of flying a widebody in your career at some point.

Delta is just not where I want to be. I’m not a fan of their ridged culture.I wouldn’t fit in their “cookie cutter mold” when it comes to their pilots. I also want to move to alaska. I’m more about QOL than I am money.

Not everyone wants to fly a widebody, or likes Delta’s ethos

I attended one right before the minimums were changed. 5 min chat and walk through of your resume with either a line captain or base chief. If you are successful at the MTC you will be invited up to SEA for the in person.

FWIW I was hired with about 2,100TT and no degree. I cant imagine how you wouldn't be competitive with those numbers and a PNW address.

No worries about being where you want to be. Just don't sell yourself short on options. ANC is a base for some cargo operations that I really wouldn't mind working for. Some with great QOL and pay. If you know anyone who works at AS you should ask them about their vacation, schedule flexibility etc to determine if that matches the QOL you are chasing after. Best to you.

Then I would definitely look elsewhere. My QOL has been in the toilet since the merger. I used to commute to work prior and I drive now. It’s still WAY worse. If I wasn’t 2 years from the end, I would’ve left long ago.

Well i’m going to tick off all the negative nellies, and say that my QOL is great. Averaging 14-17 days off a month easy, and all my trips trade requests have gone through without a problem lately with the trade desk, giving me excellent flexibility….

Can you explain how your QOL has changed? The people I know there love it and plan to stay there indefinitely.
