I guess it's to be expected. Both airlines survived some pretty lean times when survival wasn't a given. I know HA skated on some really thin ice. Tough times, union/company battles, union infighting etc..hard yards for sure. Now they have a lot of pilots who have never dealt with that. Has to be a pretty different perspective if you graduate from an aviation college and have your choice of regionals to pass through right into a major airline and then fly up the seniority list. Good on them and that doesn't mean they don't bring a lot to the table in their own way. I'd like to think both pilot groups have enough in common and a majority that see the synergies that could create a lot of new opportunities for both.

I think being junior has its challenges anywhere especially if you don’t live in base.

Upvote. The scheduling dynamic is one sided and seems spiteful, that's all I'll say.

Lol, it looks like you're at Delta? Thanks for the advice and words of encouragement.

Hey, it was in jest, being junior sucks. Commuting to be junior is the worst.

What's funny about this industry is how some choose to be junior in category repeatedly throughout thier career until the very end, but hey, someone has to be junior. At the end of the day, we are all just cogs in the machine.

No worries. Alaska scheduling just makes it a special kind of pain for reserves.

don’t worry they’ll still try to screw with you when u can hold a line.

one of my few complaints working here is our scheduling department, they love to violate the contract and some times it even feels like they go out of there way to screw with us.

Can you give an example of screwing with a lineholder?

And as for reserves, are we not overstaffed? Seems like the reserves I come across say they aren't being used much on reserve. Unless you're referring to LCR converted to SCR and then just sitting in a crashpad while away from home. That does suck, but not sure that's an Alaska problem.

I haven’t spoken to scheduling in months…
Middle to junior line holder, not sure what you’re getting at. Am I just lucky?
