I would be utterly shocked that this JCBA doesn't have a contract extension attached to it. Utterly shocked...

I won't make any assumptions until I read it. We have no idea what is in there. Is it easy to assume that there aren't incredibly sweeping changes to scheduling? Yes... Could it also be a mutually beneficial section where the NC knew exactly what the pilot groups' pain points were, and management's pain points were addressed in a mutually beneficial fashion? Could be. There are so many pilots here who think a mutually beneficial thing must somehow automatically screw the pilot group because the idea is that it is the union against management, and they are going to try and screw us, so we need to screw them. That really isn't good-faith negotiating. I have no preconceived hope or requirement for this JCBA other than really there needs to be no second-rate parts to any of it. Can't have a global airline with a regional contract, those days are over.

I really don't believe this management team would agree to anything half way decent this early on in negotiations. Especially on a section that consequential. Hope I’m wrong !

What’s management’s motivation to stall? Keep the 321s and 717s around longer?

There are 10 sections left being negotiated. 1 of those being pay which everyone always focuses on I’m sure they’re fighting hard for that one to look good in order to sell this thing. It would appear section 25 isn’t getting the same fight. Again hope I’m wrong.

Given that section 25 has already been agreed to, I’ll predict it’s essentially exactly what we have now, with maybe some essentially meaningless “improvements”. If overrides for WOCL were a non starter I’d say there is zero chance we see that given the section is agreed to already. Its baffling though that pilots out there including one on this thread seems to be fine sticking with our “industry avg” deal mostly in its current form because this a JCBA and not section 6. That in itself tells you all need to know about what to expect out of this deal.

This is exactly what I’m saying. Glad someone gets it
I can already feel the defense of another mediocre offer.

I think we’re all well aware of that. The point is, it’s not about the time spent negotiating, it’s the time order in which 25 was completed relative to the other sections being completed.

I don’t even know what you’re arguing at this point. I think it’s going to be mediocre, you seem irritated at that idea. Cool hope you’re right, maybe it’ll be ground breaking and a complete rewrite.
