Quote: Oil is back under $80 today. What narrative will you use to attempt to panic the pilot group with next?
Again, based on his comments of drawing down the “war” on Iran. I’m not panicking the pilot group. We’re all adults here - you’re to decipher what it all means for yourself.

You’d be delusional to think if the U.S. wraps this in 4 weeks as announced, that Iran is just going to pick up their ball and go home. This is a long game for Iran. They don’t have the capability to hit the U.S. - despite what your leaders led you to believe. What they do have is the ability to periodically disrupt infrastructure in the ME. Laying mines in the SOH. Sending off some lone wolf rocket attacks towards a desalination plant. Hitting a rocket at the occasional tanker. Or sending any rocket that falls anywhere near a major airport like TLV, DXB, DOH, etc, and shuttling all flights for several days.

Economic death by a thousand cuts. This whole thing is not over. And none of that is good news for airlines anywhere.

Quote: There are use cases that are going to be very difficult to get rid of, but the vast majority of oil we don't have to use.
Petroleum is in almost everything we have. Or did you miss that lesson at the Congressional hearing?

Better go back to the notepad and pencil if ya want to make a difference.

Quote: I love me a good solar panel. They work well in HI, most of the rest of the Country not so much. I forget the exact number but something along the lines of $6billion was spent for about 5 EV charging stations somewhere in the Country… at a Billion a station, that seems like a pretty low investment to change the whole Country. I’m heading out to buy my GMC EV truck right now!!

maybe the former head of Hawaiian can run Ford and have a great plan to mitigate the huge EV $$ losses they took, along with the rest of the big car manufacturers. Or didn’t MS.Now broadcast the story on the big car companies and their billions lost to the EV strategy? That may have only been a far right conspiracy story?
If we just replaced the land we use to produce corn ethanol for mixing into the gasoline supply with solar panels we'd have about 80% more electricity than we use every year. Build batteries for backup, wind for more backup, distribute it and run transmission lines so one bad weather day doesn't affect the whole system. Again that's talking two types of electricity. We don't have to be reliant on foreign countries for our energy needs. Oil coal and gas were great for getting us into the industrial era, but there are better technologies out there now. All I'm saying is that for a fraction of what we're spending on foreign wars, we could get there.

Just in reference to your $6 billion for 5 EV charging stations, your misinformation is old, that number is up to around 100 now and growing. That still wouldn't be great but there were something in the range of 27,000 that received or were going to receive funding under that contract, however the current administration halted that and only started releasing funds again once the lost in court over that funding halt.

Quote: I wasn’t in the military, but can someone that was explain when and where it is or is not appropriate to remove a hat….I guess you
prefer the mask on outdoors… we can delve down that topic in which you’ll be calling me Daddy in no time.

and I saw the actual footage with the hat on… better than staring at a watch multiple times. (By the way, how many times did
Autopen mention those 13 soldiers over a 4 yr period, or have the families to the WH?)

Maybe next time they don’t give an actual date in time for a pullout , next time they follow the Trump model of leaving it open to keep our enemies guessing. Or do you think Trump needs to give an exact date for the end of bombing Iran? Glad you’re not on the JCBA negotiating team.

Autopens Sec of Defense lost 13 soldiers, $80billion in equipment, had Afghanistanies holding onto wheel struts on takeoff and bombed a car full of 6 Afghan civilians ( and 1 child). Or didn’t you see that news story?

To keep at least on topic to prevent a thread closure, the current cabal is terrible for the airline industry. A bunch of unqualified men whose main qualification has been TV work and being yes men for Trump.

I’m not in the military. But I’ll tell you if you do a fallen soldier flight, take off your hat. It’s the respectful thing to do. Something this administration knows nothing about.

Buddy, that's the point I'm making. Maybe it shouldn't be. I'm not saying this is something that's going to happen tomorrow. I'm saying we need to get off the bad stuff. Anything we can replace we should as quickly as possible without making our lives worse. Anything we can't replace we will have more available for it without needing to resort to sending American boys and girls off to die for it.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. You can replace all electricity production within a reasonable time frame, again, for a small proportion of what we spend on bombs. That would make a huge difference in oil imports. You could replace a percentage of the US car fleet with electric cars, you could move to electric heating instead of gas. There are a lot of things we could do to substantially reduce our dependence on foreign countries on volatile areas of the world. Or we could eat up oil talking points and keep letting a corporate elites send our boys and girls off to die for their profits.

No hiring mystery
They tell you exactly how many they are going to hire in each bid. March bid was 20, the May bid was 40, the June bid was 50.

they hired 20 back in December for the March bid, and had classes in January and February for the May and June bid. 90 vacancies, looks like they hired 89. No mystery.

if they are going to hire more, they will run another bid.

this thread has become….dumb.

Another legacy airline has already done similar (eg, start APU later, do more SET, etc).
