When what? Ask Spirit how the PW engine situation basically sent them into bankruptcy. And I am an Airbus fanboy. The 787 damn near sent Boeing to bankruptcy. I am not buying Boeing stock, but if there was ever an aircraft certification they need to get right, and the FAA is tasked to make sure they get it right, it is going to be the MAX 10.

NK had other issues. The PW thing might actually have been a wash, for at least part of the time they got paid more by PW to park the planes than they probably could have gotten in revenue if they had been operating. And saved fuel and some crew costs.

You can't run an airline without airplanes. Alaska got paid out too but look at how far behind the operation is simply because we couldn't get deliveries.

When will the deliveries occur? I never said I gave a single F about which aviation appliance I happen to operate. I really don’t care. I just want it delivered on time. Unlike the Bay Area I hear a lot from friends working in the MAX program and from what I hear, on time is a long way off.

Different story for us, we could have been making money during max debacle 2.0. NK only would have been losing more.

That's correct, for max debacle 1.0

We lost money, they lost money. We were just better positioned for survivability.

Or you guys could’ve spent the same amount of money to get ~300 NB Airbuses, entire east coast market and Europe gates and slots… but nevermind

105 non certified aircraft will do

In fairness both AS and B6 had pretty headstrong management teams... apparently neither was interested in being the non-surviving HQ. So both went looking for more vulnerable acquisitions. NK in the case of B6, VX & HA in the case of AS.

Obviously worked out better for AS.
