Default New Hires and Class Dates

Hello!

Recent CJO in hand, awaiting class date for Alaska side. Figured I’d start this thread for all the other new hires recently and those coming. I have no information about class size, composition, or dates. At some point, someone will hopefully share some info here, and I’ll do the same when I have info!

Happy to be joining the team!

In the same boat over here. Mid November CJO. Was told to expect sometime in Q1 on the interview day, but nothing more specific. Have a friend(not part of the Horizon flow) that interviewed early Oct and was just given an early Jan class date. Would also love to know what the rough training schedule looks like!

Thanks for getting this started, super excited to be here!

Training is very leisurely. Weekends off for the ground school portion, sims will be 3/4 days on at a time with good time off in between. The whole process takes roughly 3 months IIRC. Congrats and Welcome.

Been running classes of 20

All 737 of you take an “Alaska” class, vacancies in mostly SFO with some LAX

1 class to go this year, starts tomorrow (Dec. 8th)

Planning 3-4 classes in January.

Welcome!

No problem! I figure if I have a question, someone else probably has it too!

Bear in mind that any “vacancies” in SFO or LAX will likely be very short lived as both bases are going to be reduced in the next bid.

Probably won’t need too many LA/SF reductions, no shortage of guys in LAX and SFO who will want to bid SAN. Every LA/SF voluntary bid to SAN takes out a reduction requirement one for one.

Well as a new hire they got to put us somewhere. So there will be a vacancy at some base, somewhere, or at least they’ll make a vacancy and put us there. And not like you get much choice in indoc. Oh, here’s a question, how do they determine seniority within a new hire class?

Date of birth, the oldest being the most senior.
