Got a phone interview with questions about my flight time, and what I thought about working in SEA, LAX, or ANC. if I have a first class medical, and mostly questions about my logbook, type ratings etc. not about previous jobs... The only feedback was "keep looking in the talent community / smart recruiting for jobs with us... and thanks for being part of the talent community...".
Any idea if that is good feedback? or does that mean "thanks but no thanks for now..."? Thanks! |

I applied in smartrecruiters about 40 days ago and have not updated it. I don't see the link to update or for the video presentation, is the video upon request? thanks startship!

It means next to nothing. You may not have noticed that the phone number that called you was in Georgia. You weren't talking to anybody at Alaska. You were talking to someone at SmartRecruiters. Nobody really knows what the purpose of that call is. Probably just to make sure you're not a complete doofus.

I thought Smartrecruiters was just some kind of agency, kind of like one that was advertising jobs on Linkedin. Their description of Alaska Airlines was: "you have to drive from the country of Washington to the main base of Anchorage from where we do some international flights." I have no idea who butchered up the airlines- and job description, but it made me very hesitant to submit my resume to something else than the airline itself.
Alaska has a window that opens occasionally, do they draw all applicants from that or do they really use this recruiting firm to supply applicants? I would love to come home and work from home. From where a 6 hour flight is about the maximum and not the half way point. |

They don't do that anymore. It's all SmartRecruiters from here on out. You don't do anything resembling the old application process until you get called for an interview. |
Thanks, at least they are legit then. I'll try to submit my app. then.

New bid out today for 38 upgrades and 56 newhires... I'd imagine people will be getting calls.
