Welcome to last month. They announced a while back that 13 March was the last class until July. Everyone interviewing recently knows that.

Looks like someone didn't get the memo!

The really long answer is you can resubmit all you info in Smart Recruiters and they will see the new stuff. But I didn't think the were really using that anymore.
Ha, ok then. So just keep looking for a window and/or go to the event in August?

Curious if anybody knows what the deal is currently with VX and getting on through that door? If one wants to go to AS but goes through VX right now will they be seat locked to a VX base or have the option of waiting for a 73 class?

I think if Virgin offers you a job you would be a vx pilot until it becomes a merged list. But if you want to work at Alaska and Vx offers you a job you should take it because it's a seniority number.

That was a real dick head reply PNWFlyer. Are you feeling big and accomplished now that you finally got a job with Alaska?

I have a strong feeling there is a good reason why SWA and FedEx avoided PBS in their latest contracts.
Well that is the benefit to the company of PBS, preventing conflicts from the start of building schedules. Otherwise there is really no reason the company would want PBS if you allow conflicts. They can build lines as they wish now and force a pilot to pick. Allowing conflicts after PBS would surely cost the company even more manpower as pilots would become adept at building schedules through PBS that would drop the most flying for whatever conflict was available.

So no company has switched to PBS willingly (without the threat of a BK judge) except maybe AA which did it as part of their merger JCBA due to the merged parties working under such disparate $$ and work rules.

What a very unnecessary and incredibly rude way to reply to somebody just looking for help. To the person asking about an April class: I don't believe there is one, last we were told the next class for AS will be in mid July. If an April class has come on schedule it has occurred within the last few days.

In re: to PBS, its the wave of the future and I speculate it will probably be on property here within the next 4-7 years whether we like it or not.

Virgin America is conducting interviews at the moment as is Alaska. It was probably mentioned earlier, but the Airbus utilization is going up and will require Virgin to double their 2017 pilot hiring plan. AS interviewing and hiring will continue in 2017 with classes resuming in July and holding strong through December. Best of luck everyone!
