Well, I guess they are cleaning the applications they have backup. I just got this email right now too.

Just curious, did you guys get the e-mails from Alaska recently telling you about Oshkosh and OBAP asking you to stop by and drop off an updated resume? I did, so I was thinking I was still in the running then...have not received a TBNT yet, but it might be on the way. My stupid **s went back to the Alaska site and deleted my old resume to upload my updated one, but it won't upload! The darn website will let you delete stuff, but not add and update! What the heck? I recently did a B737-NG type rating too that was not on my old resume. Why do I HAVE to make it to a job fair to update the resume? By the time I got the message about them being at these two locations it was too late for me and I could not make Oshkosh due to other commitments and OBAP was sold-out when I checked.

Congrats! Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to who they choose to interview.

A lot of Alaska's hiring criteria include community service, equal opportunity and, of course, who you know/are related to.

Trying to figure out the correct combination is something of a Gordian Knot.

Like it or not, that's the deal. Even updating on the website won't do anything for you. They review applications once and rank them after the window closes. The only way to get "re-ranked" is dropping one off at an official job fair or event.

What am I misreading here? It looked to me like you were congratulating someone who said that got the TBNT e-mail. That's why I put the out there.

I have no problem with going to a job fair, done one already and I will do more...I was just frustrated when I found out I would have the time off to go to OBAP, it was already sold out. Such is life.
