Oops, you're right. Missed the 'not' in his post. Just delete the "Congrats" part and the post still applies. My bad...

My stupid **s went back to the Alaska site and deleted my old resume to upload my updated one, but it won't upload! The darn website will let you delete stuff, but not add and update! What the heck? I recently did a B737-NG type rating too that was not on my old resume. Why do I HAVE to make it to a job fair to update the resume? By the time I got the message about them being at these two locations it was too late for me and I could not make Oshkosh due to other commitments and OBAP was sold-out when I checked.

Yes, I did received that email from Alaska stating about OBAP and OSKOSH. Well, I just got another email from them right now stating this!

Thank you for expressing interest in the position of First Officer. Unfortunately an email was sent earlier today in error. Please disregard the previous email. You are still being considered an applicant for the First Officer position.

Thank you so much for your interest in a career with Alaska Airlines!

Haha, wow, is right! Great! I wonder what is going on in the Alaska Recruiting office right now? Like, since they say they are still considering you, when are they considering calling people for interviews?

Got both the rejection and the oops, didn't mean that email today...what a swing of emotion. Went to OSH and had a really good meeting, was really dumbfounded at the rejection...

Why? They're specialists at smiling in your face and knifing you in the back. You just found out about it BEFORE you got hired.

Why so down on the Eskimo Pack? Did they turn you down? If you really want to fly around with the 'Mo on your tail then keep trying.

It seems they are doing interviews every two weeks or so.

I had a friend get a Day 1 interview at Oshkosh. They will also be conducting Day 1 interviews at OBAP.

From what was said a couple of weeks ago, they are looking to hire 100 a year for the next 2 years ... minimum.

Also, to add to what others have said, community service or something to differentiate you from the other 3000 applicants is what they're looking for. To quote, "We have 1000+ applicants with 10,000 hours of RJ time ... what sets them apart?"

Hope that helps, and good luck in your pursuit!

Please remember, guys and gals, that every airline has a technical oops now and then. I received oops emails from other airlines in the past just to have them come back and say that it was a computer issue. Not saying that it is the case, but it is a sure possibility. A real stinker was I once interviewed with an airline and I knew that I did well. I got the, YOU ARE HIRED email along with instructions to wait for another email which specified the class date. After waiting for a month, I shot them an email asking if they had a clue as to when the class date would be. The response was, oops, we sent you the wrong email=we are not offering you a position. That, my friend, was a real stab in the back. I guess I didn't do was well as I thought during the interview.

Go work for QX, then volunteer at the hiring fairs, and you'll be at Alaska in no time. Heck you don't even have to have pic time.
