Fate of San Fran should be on the next bid:

”Position bidding for the next potential system bid will open on May 14th, 2022”

The fate is that a 737 base is being established there. They are hiring a new BCP for SFO as we speak.

Good. I hope so. My concern was ST’s comment on the investor call where he said they’re looking at basing. Kinda made it sound like things could be up in the air.

Maybe SAN is being considered. Won't get my hopes up.

I know what the email said, that the next 2 bids would completely close out Airbus SFO and open Boeing SFO to be about the same size as SFO Airbus today. It's just that after seeing how things operate, "I'll believe it when I see it."

In the past 2 yrs, LAX has become a pseudo-senior base because of the Airbus displacements, many CAs came to LAX because that is where their seniority is best (plus easier commutes). Our #1 guy wouldn't even show up until number 200 something in SEA. If they closed SFO without opening a Boeing base there, it would be an absolute blood bath for LAX. All bases, for that matter.

I’m with you. There is no way they can swap the Airbus base for a Boeing base with the training backlog that exists. I highly doubt there is a large majority of Boeing guys hoping to be based in sf. The reality will be all the sfo Airbus guys bidding over. If the bid results reflect a large majority of awards that require a fleet translation long course then they will cancel the bid and likely just scrap sfo.

It’ll still be a mess because all vacancies are awarded first, then reductions are processed.

June Bid right now opens a SFO 737 base in November. I think there is still a 40% chance that this never happens… lots of whispering. This place is such a disaster right now nothing would surprise me. Everyone, is just positioning and trying to justify their job. All the movers and shakers are trying to come up with the golden ticket that gets the company out of this mess.
