A pending merger with UAL is probably the only thing that would keep an Alaska FO with an offer from DAL or FDX or AAL from bailing as fast as possible. I was told by someone else BM wants to go it alone and if we fail that the shareholders are protected by OneWorld and AAL. If we were to fail on our own, we would just fold into AAL. That same person said BM is intent on not giving us contract, ever. He believes he will force his proposal down our throats when the economic tables turn. In the mean time he will use the savings provided by us working under our current contract to establish long term deals with other labor groups. He is also confident we will be parked for 6 MO’s starting in June.🙄 And ah, maybe just go to UAL, I wouldn’t want anyone to go to an airline based on merger speculation. I would not come to AS, I would go to the best company that works best for that individual pilot. Now is the time, you really could go anywhere you want right now, why settle. |
