Union just did a side letter. It's complicated but it looks like it will allow noobs to be homeless until SAN opens (which is now less than a month out). For anyone applying today, it does appear that SAN will be junior this year... it went unfilled on the FO side on the forst side, and there's another large bid effective 1 Oct.
CA bases have been consistently junior for years, probably due to high cost and AS targeting PNW/AK applicants (who then get forced to commute for a while). Also due to lack of interest in AS from CA pilots who have many other options.

Pilot mgmt mentioned the Fall, I’m sure you’re right though, no hiring for the Alaska side. The Hawaiian side however has three more vacancy/displacement bids coming up, Sept, Dec, Feb. By the end of that or sooner, 787 SEA FO seats could go unfilled and therefore hire into.
