Why would that be necessary? Nothing but blue sky's and tailwinds in our future.

I know for a fact that the 80/80 proposal was made by RAPA to AA on behalf of Wings West/American Eagle.
When did Horizon make that offer?
1992ish or so.

Why would any of the QXers go for flowback, when their future would be ALK mainline or Captain on 50-100 C-series/E195 ? (future possible organic growth detailed below)

Will Alaska Airlines grow through acquisition or "organically"? | Crosscut

Better yet, why would anyone want to work for AS unless you absolutely want to live in the northwest? I can see that if you are a QX guy with no turbine PIC, AS will still hire you but that's about the only good deal for a "flow through". Objectively speaking, the big three legacies offer better pay, better 401k, more opportunities for upgrade in various airframes=more pay, more base choices=QOL, better pay, better pay, pilots with bigger balls, etc.

I agree with most of this. However, Alaska dropped the PIC requirement. I know several people hired from other regionals with 0 TPIC. It is no longer an exception for QX. One more reason to apply to other regionals. Back to Delta and Alaska banter.

Most pilots have pea sized nuts. Higher you go, longer the fall. I get it. But you have to admit, majority of our guys have pea sized numb nuts.

Unfortunately I agree with you. Too few give a f---k about what we fly. Hopefully with all this hiring we will get a ton of regional pilots who do care.

With this recent discussion of Embraer 190s or 195s (quickly nearing 737-200 size), has anyone heard anything from our MEC about scope or discussions with management since apparently they've already talked to Horizon about it? Seems like with JetBlue and UsAir(or AA now) flying those airplanes at mainline, we would be setting a bad precident to do otherwise. Plus, mainline growth is better right? I think this is a major threat for us and nobody seems to be taking it seriously...

I did email my LEC and got an immediate response. Don't want to share it on this forum, so I suggest you contact your LEC as well. I am not worried at all based on the response.
