That's because they are future management. Seriously, we as a pilot group are at the mercy of the air group since we have NO SCOPE.

So this morning, Skywest announced they are replacing all the CRJ 700's with 8 more 175's. Good for our customers, but lets start an honest discussion about scope. Especially for those of us with 30+ years left here...

I suggest you talk to the MEC officers and Negotiating committee members. They seem to be completely unconcerned by our lack of scope. Perhaps you can get them to explain their lack of concern and relay it to us. I'm at a loss to understand why they aren't worried.

This was actually announced on Alaska's World a few weeks ago.
Our next contract is basically our best shot at having enough voting pilots who care. By the time we negotiate our next contract we will have hundreds of new-hires and it is our job to get them on the same page as far as scope goes. There is no reason to vote in another contract with basically zero protection when we will have loads of new pilots with very long careers ahead of them.

Funny but true! Judas Iscariot was reincarnated into ALPA. We now have Judas juniors running around within the association. The problem is the inbreeding that went on with the little devils because there seem to be a lot intellectually challenged juniors who seem to think that they can take on the high caliber lawyers and negotiators owned by the golden goose. I guess they like it up the a**!
