Out of 65ish lines in LA, only 10-12 are built out of SNA. Because there are so few SNA lines, sometimes the jr pilot will be in the 40s in base. Other times, SNA will be go to some of the most junior line holders. The last few system bids have had numerous local OC/SD guys headed to upgrade, so it seems that SNA, overall is going more junior. The lines consist of 3 day trips with a few turns sprinkled in and then 2 to 4 pure turn lines. Since the turns are up to SEA and back and only pay about 5:30, the turn lines don't have much time off. They are only desirable to a select few.

I would say interview prep at Alaska is a requirement. They interview differently than other airlines. It was 70% Brown Nose your way into the job and 30% Do you know how to fly. Make sure you get all the Core Values down and how to apply them (even though the Company doesn't follow them themselves.) They believe they're giving you a PHD in Aviation, it's really just a BS like all the rest, but they like to think they have it all figured out.
If you REALLY want to stay in the PNW, then this is a Co for you. Otherwise I'd suggest hitting them all (But NEVER tell AS that.)
Good Luck, Baja.

Seriously, if you're gonna throw stones, at least try to use something that is actually factual and topical. Not some 20+ year old, rehashed Internet hokum.

Good thing then that this is total BS. Hasn't been that way since the 90s. While an applicant may trip up somewhere on the eval, the final hiring decision comes down to a group of Flt Ops personnel. The psych component can only make a reccommendation, but doesn't have any final say. Not like say, the Hogan test United uses.

And, I guess this whole thread is made up, 20 year old stuff, too?
I guess you should get your facts straight before you post here, too, eh?

Then I guess the Coast Guard pilot who had a CJO from Delta last year, but then had it rescinded due to the psych stuff, was lying ... Or not! At least we hired him!

Actually, it sounds like the CG dude got tripped up during the psych eval and the flight ops board accepted the non-hire recommendation. Everyone that is successful on day 1 gets a CJO, if you have issues on day 2 you might not meet all the conditions of your conditional job offer and have that offer rescinded. So it's not a case of flight ops saying yes but being overruled by HR, but in fact a case of flight ops saying "based on information received on day 2, we are reconsidering the job offer we specifically told you was conditional." In the end, flight ops makes the go/no-go decision.
Cricket, I think you're hanging on too tight and have lost the edge...

Not currently qualified for CPDLC but certainly capable of outlasting your seasonal service to Hawaii...which was to augment international feed from SeaTac? So after the very brief CPDLC training required, will be continuing Alaska feed to the islands normally and watching RA continue to bombard SEA traffic with Compass and SkyWest service from SEA. Enjoy!

I'm digging the fact that this has become another Delta thread. Ironically, cricket is the one who keeps steering it in that direction. Sour grapes? Repressed desire? We may never know...

As an ANC based and ANC local guy, he's got the best of both worlds with big leaps in base seniority as icing on the cake.

Good article about ALASKA ... Well, it is actually more about US, the employees.
