Could anyone verify this. I guess one of the 3 people there would have to be reading this thread.

If true, maybe the company will realize that having 3000 resumes on file doesn't mean jack.

But, I'm sure I'm wrong. They'll just let things get really bad with staffing before deciding to do something about pay, etc. to make us competitive with the DAL/UAL/AMR/WN.

18 pilots at museum event

A friend of mine in the July 17 class just got a hotel today.

Event was nice, great catered food. Chiefs were there from SEA, PDX, and Chris C from VA + a few HR types.

Hiring projections 2018 260 to Alaska and about 130 to Virgin.

Fleet decision end of 4th quarter

So your friend got a hotel confirmed for training? I'm just curious because I'm coming in from Minneapolis to start training on the 31st and would be really happy about getting a hotel paid for by AS.

Yes my friend got a hotel room confirmed for training. Very last minute. I would be surprised if they didn't do it for other classes.

Great news. I can't imagine them doing it for some and not offer it to all. Thanks of the info!

I can second that now. A friend in the Monday class was called today and told they'd recieve housing at the Seatac Four Points Sheraton.
Note: today is Friday.
Is this SOP for this outfit?!

Uhhh... have you not read the countless pages of people already here stating clear examples of how backwards and misguided our management is...
And to the guy saying "I would be surprised if Alaska gave it to some but not all"... I would not be surprised in the least.. mind games and poor decision making are king here

FWIW, Quote from AS recruiter on phone today after offering paid hotel accomodations through entire training: 'approved 3 days ago, this is a trial run offered to those residing outside 100 miles of SEA for the July 17 class'.

I wonder if they'll extend this hotel deal to any other classes since it's a "trial run".

Seems fair to the people who will have to drive an hour plus to and from everyday. Hopefully there's some in that boat for this trail period and maybe it'll change.
