Base Seniority
#261
DSM vacancy bids will open in January. That means that there will probably be some DSM slots available for February new hires. If I were a new hire in the next few classes, I would plan on GRR, ABE, or DSM (starting in Feb.). You may get something else initially, but the odds are good that it will be one of those 3.
DSM captain will be somewhat junior. However, I believe that are some west coast pilots that have recently taken east coast upgrades that will bid to DSM to lessen the misery of the commute. So, I think that ABE will be the junior upgrade. Junior system wide captain will probably go somewhere around a July 2016 hire date. That is all speculation on my part, and I could be totally off base.

The current most junior CA award in the company is a May 16' hire (GRR) so July 2016 is a pretty good guess for DSM. Also when the most junior CA eventually gets to a Dec 17' hire there is about a year and 10 month gap on the seniority list to skip over when there was no hiring due to the fleet transition.

So for a person hired in one of the January classes, do you think I’d have a shot at bidding for the vacancies created by the plane addition to BNA?
(I’m already hired, just trying to maintain SOME level of confidentiality)
