Allegiant management: 400-500 furloughs
Management has done a complete 180 and is back to furloughing half the pilot group. Maybe it's an attack on the union, maybe it's pandering to the politicians for another bailout, or maybe they really are cutting the airline in half.
If I owned stock in this company, I'd push the sell button so fast. Either management here is lying to everyone, or they have no plan for this company going forward. Investors really need to start asking hard questions. What the employees are being told is another world from what the investors are being told. Someone is being lied to.
Meanwhile, construction is still continuing at Sunseeker.

Woah tiger... an email came out mentioning the F-word, but there was no speak of any specific number, or even confirmation of said F-word... simply that they “might” be back on the table. Typical management shenanigans.

can't staff with what they have now!
They can not staff the airline with only half of their pilots. Hell, and can't do a descent job of it now.400 to 500 pilots? not going to happen.
Having said that, its going to hurt those effected bad enough.

I think this at the top of the list of reasons why we got the email that we did...which obviously sucks for moral, but I can understand why they're doing it. Why wouldn't they send WARN notices? Why not try to reach for concessions by tormenting the pilot group? It doesn't cost them anything, and it's a smart(albeit, douchey) move to use the tools available to them to attempt to reduce expenses. I'm not saying they're bluffing, but given the very recent communication regarding upgrades, inductions, etc, I just don't think the math adds up to furloughing even 5% of our group. They're also still working on the Sun Seeker resort, which a couple have pointed out might be for tax purposes and creative accounting.
