So the guys on here who like being home every night - have you considered it won’t last? The company won’t even put a % of day trips in the new contract let alone guarantee that you’ll be home every night.

The Allegiant of today, will not be there in 12-25 months. Get used to it and plan accordingly. Or stick your head in the sand. Which ever works for you

I agree with your comments about AR and he obviously has a Napoleon complex. Everyone who isn't him or one of his Cappos knows that. He thinks he's a mafia boss and he runs it like a syndicate. He has a symbiotic relationship with management. He and his personal wealth feed on anger and dissent, and he has a huge financial motivation to drag everything out as long as possible and keep the grievance machine running.

But that's not why people are leaving. As KC135 said, people are leaving because the dam finally broke in legacy hiring and anyone who wants to grab the brass ring can. At some point, you do the math and realize that turning down a million bucks or more for "being home every night" is an incredibly stupid proposition. Delta has 767 captains with less than a year at the company. United can put in for upgrade and get it at a year and a day. AA is still about 3 years for 320/737 and dropping, but you'll move up in seniority a lot faster to make up for it. The difference between a legacy CA and a G4 CA in pay, benefits, and retirement are astounding. Literally $100,000 a year. If you have even 10 years left, thats a million bucks.

Would you really pay a million dollars to be home every night?
The legacy numbers don’t tell the whole story. Something like 70% of pilots commute. Yes that 767 delta upgrade might seem super sweet, except it will be thousands of miles away from home. Yea your kid gets to live in a nice house with lots of stuff on legacy captain pay but you ain’t seeing them. Maybe when they’re older they’ll appreciate why you weren’t there? Lol

You're an airline pilot, its expected you will be away from the family. Comes with the job. Even Allegiant will be forced to go to overnights right after the contract is signed next year.

Forget it Tom. You're wasting your time. They don't like our messages, so they aren't going to listen.

I'm just an older guy trying to help the younger guys not learn the hard way like I did. I'm done trying.

They will learn the hard way.

I think by now everybody’s got the message….
Nobody can claim they were never told.
People will manage their careers as they see fit & hopefully it works out.
No need to keep beating people over the head.

I’m confused… how does getting a new contract = going to overnights?? This company is not set up to do overnights anytime soon.. 12-25 months… I don’t believe it. This company doesn’t know how to do anything except what it does now.

if they aren’t going to overnights, why won’t they put it in the contract?

Too many fake accountants here with their idea that it saves the company millions on hotels. The other airlines got it all wrong, Allegiant is the only one that knows what they are doing. When those new planes come they won’t need to operate them 20 hrs per day. No, the Allegiant business middle is better than everyone else’s….

then why won’t they guarantee a % of day trips then????? Because they are going to overnights in time! Then your dream job is over

We are going to overnights so the airline survives but they can’t do it until post contract next year otherwise there is no reason to come here.
