The average G4 captain would probably be up $200k now if they took the deal Fedex'd to everyones house two years ago. Instead Andrew got a new kitchen and the pilot group gets paid less than Skywest.

Many would be up at least $200k by now in earnings and pilots under 50 would be up at least $500k in their 401k when it came time for retirement.

Make no mistake, waiting to get a contract will absolutely not be worth the squeeze.

A year from now when we still don’t have a contract we will be saying the same thing: “should have taken the contract management offered last summer.”

GU and the union are in a tough spot I give them that. They gotta show their value but is the juice worth the squeeze? Seriously. The market has turned 180 degrees and the union has an impossible job of convincing the mediator that we should get no less than legacy rates and work rules.

If you're not furious with the IBT antics yet...maybe this will help:

PSA Airlines (CRJ 700s/900s)
Max CA pay is $221.25 (2024), $225 (2025), $228.75 (2026).
First year FO pay is $96 (2024), $99 (2025), $102 (2026).

Line check airmen receive a 200% pay credit (up to $457.50 / IOE flight hour).

Again, these rates are Regional Airline rates.

There's such a thing as allowing your opponent to believe they got the best of you, but having the last laugh. The framework would appear to be in place to achieve a reasonable deal now but instead we all leave huge amounts of money on the table while they try to make the deal perfect.

it’s because IBT doesn’t care about us, they care about using this contract to “recruit” other airlines to the airline division - I know the concept is absurd but that is absolutely what GU is searching for.

It’s why they are slow playing negotiations. Trying to find that perfect deal. Apparently GU and to a lesser extent the NC don’t believe in the “don’t let perfection be the enemy of good.”

Would you rather get a double now or hope for the 1% possibility of a home run in 2026? I’d rather get the double two years sooner than wait for a home run and end up the double anyway.

Allegiant isn’t changing the business model to accommodate us. Get us the rates, retirement and LTD before the industry and the economy crash even more.

This right here is the way. I’m tired of the absurd pay, the time is now to cash in and get something reasonable done. Too bad the IBT lacks common sense and it won’t happen though. We’ll just wait for a full economical meltdown, and end up with something even worse than what we could get now in 2-3 years. Sure will be worth the wait. 🙄

I'm hearing the company still won't budge on trip rigs? Do you really want to be doing 4 day trips that pay 16 hours or a 12 hour 3 day? I saw a few of those when they were experimenting with multiday trips a while back. We're going to have this contract for the next 7-10 years, a lot can change in that time so we need to at least lock in the basics even the regionals have.
