It's really up to the individual & nobody's business. As long as you understand the tradeoffs, and realize
a day trip schedule, or something close to it, is doable at a legacy (if you're willing to live in their domicile) and are willing to roll the dice on the longevity of your Allegiant base, go for it.

Make no mistake though, I won't vote for a bad contract.

I sent in an app, with current 320 type and recent experience and was unfortunately denied. I was really hoping to get something to try to be closer to home in Flint as its a lot more affordable than where I am now. Do you think Allegiant is focusing on their cadet route more than OTS hires?

Same here, two times have been denied for an interview with over 3000 on type. I don't know what they are looking for. probably half Spirit has applied to allegiant by now..

Who knows? I got a CJO a couple months ago but was put back in the hiring pool without any updates. They're still hiring though, and I assume issuing class dates to those that get hired. Maybe you're over qualified?

Placing people in a hiring pool after a CJO is not a good sign. Sorry to hear that. I am unsure what 'overqualified' is for them but going from flying a bus to a regional would make somone's life miserable. Legacy carriers aren't hiring as much as they used to so allegiant have to realize that people with high tt and a 320 type can be long term employess who won't quit for better options. Besides that i think we are heading for another 2008-like situation soon. Home depot and Walmart will be waiting in the wings for pilot applications.

I'd blame it on Boeing. We currently have 96 pilots typed on an airplane that isn't even on property, which is a lot for this small airline. New hire classes are now much smaller for the time being, basically cut in half, although still running every 3 weeks.

Based on what some of y'all are saying, it appears that they want low time CFIs. Can't have y'all heavier experienced coming here, they probably see that you will leave when you get the first opportunity. Just MHO of course

They do want people who already have an ATP. Previously they were hiring without one and then paying for the ATP-CTP course. They did take some who were offered a job, but didn't have the ATP, and put them back in the pool. Management said they had enough applicants who already had an ATP and didn't want to spend money for the CTP course if they didn't have to.

Right, that was my experience. I do not have an ATP, when I was hired they were offering to pay for ATP/CTP. When they put me back in the pool they told me that they are no longer paying for it, and had me re-sign the CJO that reflected that. The thing that I don't understand is; if they want me to get it on my own i'll do that, but they didn't indicate that's what thy wanted. They just sort of said it was a Boeing aircraft issue, and when (if?) I get a date, I'll have to go prior to class on my own and get my ATP.

What would you guys do? go pay the 6-9k or whatever and hope that helps move the needle? or sit tight and see how things play out? The benfit of waiting is if it isn't going to help, I wouldn't have to spend the time and money spinning my wheels, there's a scenario where a regional or something will pay for it.

Like I said, I don't really have clear guidence, I really want to work here but I feel stuck.

really what they are telling you is go to a regional and get a type rating and an ATP. Their CJO is worthless. Once you have your ATP let them know or reapply.
