Misunderstood the SPC Chairman calling for an illegal work action? Like I said, I haven’t yet heard directly what was said. Would you please summarize it with a quote?

Tom, are you apprehensive of sharing the quote because it would indeed show an illegal work action? This should alarm you, we all have a vested interest in the profession. IBT is again failing us, leaving our local and our careers in peril.

Well maybe you should go to the chief pilot and tattle on them.

I’m not entirely certain what you’re going for here. I’m stating my concern that the union leadership is advocating for an illegal work action. If I were advising them, I’d urgently seek they clarify the remarks that were allegedly made yesterday evening. I have no desire to see our union sued by management, in fact I only put this here publicly in hopes that clarification is offered and we avoid a lawsuit.

I understand that individuals such as yourself have shown they’re only capable of following IBT marching orders. That’s fine, very narrow minded, but we’re each entitled to agency allowing us a right to choose our own belief.

IBT is entrusted by our members with the advocation, protection, and fair representation of our collective interest. The preceding 18 months have shown that this has slipped.

Why are you telling me and the rest of the world? Pick up the F'ing phone and call your union representitive.

I appreciate the suggestion, in fact it’s the first thing I did early this morning.

I'll apologize in advance to Chapi since I told him I'd butt out but I feel like a reminder needs to go out that Andrew did the same thing during the Rona in one of his videos from the fancy home office where he advocated for an illegal work action. And the company had an sh- fit and IBT had to walk it back. Almost got him fired from the company IIRC.

If a current leader made this rookie mistake again that's unbelievable.

That sort of thing doesn't happen with ALPA because they all get training and the legal team makes sure nobody says anything stupid that could give the company their wet dream of an injunction and hostages taken. I don't understand why Airline Division hires crackpot attorneys and shoots from the hip in official communications. I wonder if the UPS drivers side is more professional.

Yes, this is reminiscent of the remark you reference from AR. I can confirm now, the SPC chairman was making remarks regarding ongoing SPC efforts that with Allegiant’s busy season coming up, our pilots should read between the lines as we are the ones that keep the company afloat. I do not feel the need to directly quote this remark as it truly is legally damaging, but it’s absolutely unacceptable something to this level of stupidity was done. The Temporary Trustee, who also serves as Division Director, was hosting the call and immediately should have walked this remark back.

There is zero professionalism present within our union ranks. This is not the fault of the volunteers, but that of the Trustee and his failed style of “leadership”. If it isn’t already clear, Allegiant pilots— and the airline division itself, is a small afterthought of the IBT overall.

Allegiant pilots are behaving just as a beaten spouse would. The abuser (IBT) will continually beat you down warning just how bad it is if you leave (ALPA). The fear of the unknown outweighs the clear advantage of leaving the terrible situation. Many of us, myself included, are guilty of giving the benefit of doubt to individuals such as GU. It’s time we quit affording them the opportunity to right their continual wrongs.

Last night on the Trustee Update, SPC Chairman AA stated that busy spring break flying is coming up. That Allegiant pilots continue to bail out management, who creates a staffing model that is predicated on knowing pilots will staff VFNs and open time. He then stated it’s time for pilots to “read between the lines and that’s all I’ll say.”

If true, it is an alarming attempt at an illegal work action. If our Local Leadership is truly dumb enough to say something like this in the public forum, it’s time for them to go. The end result will not be IBT taking our $10,000,000, it will be management taking it the second one VFN goes unfilled in March and they sue the union.

The gross negligence that has taken place is teetering on the precipice of becoming a violation of the IBT’s duty to fairly represent all members of Local 2118. The blatant disregard of acting in our collective best interest is appalling. We are quickly approaching a year of Mr. Unterseher’s “temporary” tenure with Local 2118 and we have absolutely nothing to show for it.

At this time, it seems vital that we due paying members band together and question IBT leadership on Mr. Unterseher’s underperformance.

He knew what he was saying. It was highly inappropriate and it doesn't work. VFNs will be covered... every single one, they always are. Taking illegal job actions won't accelerate anything, it will only get us iced out and screw up any progress. I mean if progress has been made and like JA said, it's been a breath of fresh air, why hint at anything that could jeapordize everything? It's not like we can just keep asking for a new mediator everytime things don't go our way, come on now LOL.

AA is so dumb to think people won't immediately report what he said to management. Im surprised that he hasn't already been brought for an 18 and fired. Just goes to show how amateur the teamsters are. Management is probably watching VFN take rate like a hawk ever since mediation started and AA is beyond naive to think that this fractured, broken down pilot group would keep something like an illegal job action "secret". We all know what he meant when he said "read between lines" about accepting VFNs during the busiest month of the year. GU is a moron. The teamsters act like the washed up high school jock who's now in his 40s and still pretends to be a bully even though he can't get off the couch without losing his breath.

Telling pilots to think twice about picking up VFNs during March and "read between the line" to create leverage is why we can't move on to ALPA fast enough. GU should know better than to let AA run his mouth. He's the freaking chairman of the strike committee and he's out here suggesting illegal job actions?!?! you can't make up just how stupid the teamsters are. they have no clue how to represent pilots. they might be great at representing truckers and warehouse workers, but they are clueless when it comes to pilots.
