weve had five NCs in four years. Our exco (teamster version of mec) was booted out of the union for fraud, and corruption over 18 months ago. We still haven’t had elections for a new NC. Instead we have an emergency trustee that acts like an emperor and does whatever he wants. He’s installed fourth NC in March 2024 and then fired that NC two months later and installed our fifth NC in summer 2024
there is an Alpa drive going on and from what I understand if (and it’s still a big if) Alpa comes on property then somebody at Alpa National would install a NC similar to how our current trustee did until we could have elections. It’s infuriating that we are gonna close to two years of mediation without any elected leadership. No real progress can happen at the table until we have elections.

Doesn't seem like that bodes well for an ALPA drive, or for any meaningful change.
I fear the single-minded fools-errand drive toward getting released will continue ad-nauseam...

100% this pilot group is it worse enemy. Management see's votes like that and to them that means most pilots do not care. So they win.

Let's give a little update to those with short memories, or that have become very apathetic since the union's comprehensive pass.
Around March 2024 GU came in, removed AR, then charged him on corruption charges. Now, before many start claiming a coup or whatever... GU came in, "cleaned house" and took over. HIM along with the NC REFUSED to put forward a comprehensive proposal. I MYSELF advised GU about communications, and the failure to provide effective communications to unite the pilot group. After a few months I adviced the NC that whatever strategy they were doing, wasn't working, and their were losing support. I adviced them to either put a comprehensive pass, or run an internal poll to the pilots to see how much longer they were willing to go down this road. They refused.
They (NC and GU) decided that a request for proffer was the best course of action; along with other things to get the company to bend the knee. Now at this point I was not longer talking or advising the NC, or GU about what the temperature (chatter) of the pilot group was. Bc of their failures the ALPA drive went full steam ahead. Hundreds of pilots sent their cards in, in support for change. Bc of this, GU changed course and has since then been on a mission to keep the IBT on property. Changes were made to the NC, comms, SPC. None have truly come to fruition.
The ALPA drive "stalled", due to the NC, AFTER A YEAR putting a comprehensive proposal. Everything stopped, and is now waiting for the company to negotiate OFF the comprehensinve proposal, as they wanted to do for some time. But what happened? The NC, decided to request RETRO PAY and claim that was always on the table. Eventhough THEY FAILED to put it in the comprehensive pass sent to the pilots. Now there's a narrative change from the union once again. E-mails go out stating that the only way to a contract is an impasse, while during a union meeting in Vegas just a few days ago, the members get told STRAIGHT OUT, that there's ZERO chance of a strike. When asked (pilot to union), "how can we unite when you tell us RIGHT NOW we have no leverage and ZERO chance of being released, yet, we JUST GOT an e-mail claiming that a strike is the only way to a contract", there was no real response at all.
So I ask...
1- GU and the NC actually had a moment of "honesty" with Vegas pilots. Did they tell GRR, FNT, or ATW about the fact there was 0 chance of a release, or that the company held the cards?
2- If UNITY is the only leverge we have, why o why would BP, tell Vegas pilots that what the union needs is for LAS and all bases basically, to be like PIE. Where he says "jump" and they ask... "how high?".
From what I have heard, the meeting in Vegas, the pilots told the NC and Greg that they are not trusted, they are hurting the pilot group's livelihood, and there's no leadership or strategy. The biggest thing I heard from the pilots in Vegas that told me about the meeting is that the NC are nothing but a bunch of arrogant amateurs.
In closing... Change is needed, and soon! And no I'm not promoting ALPA, but something has to change. Bc we CANNOT just keep doing the same nonesense. A trustee that has no skin in the game, more focused on the institution than what this pilot group wants or demands, and an NC that is made up of amateurs with small d*****s and big egos trying to make a name for themselves.
We can sit here and blame the company all we want. The reality is that any delay, or pumping of the breaks by the company has been handed by this idiotic representation. This is not a pass on the company BTW, the company needs to read the tea leaves and recognize that when the flood gates open in the future they wont be able to keep many pilots on property if this crap remains. Time to ******** or get off the pot. Time to put your money where you mouth is, and show that you do "want a contract that you can be proud of".

Great post, none of this will change with GU & the IBT. As you point out, their only strategy is continue to demand wildly unrealistic industry standard ++ in single-minded pursuit of a release & strike. We can all watch the calendar flip over to the 2030's & you can make the same post again.

a year ago people said ALPA was a waste of time. A year later what's changed? GU isnt going anywhere, why vote for bylaws? And why hasnt anyone asked about the email where it was stated that Greg lied and the bonus would be taxed on dues. Retro pay would be nice but should of been there from the start not at the last minute. Retro pay + bonus? Seems absurd.

While you're at it try sticking your neck out for something instead of starting every other sentence with "I've heard". I'd be shocked if in the last year you've made a single take that you haven't gone back on.
